In February 1930, Cub Scouting was formally launched. Therefore every February is the Cub Scout Blue & Gold Banquet to celebrate the founding of it. Since CJ is a Tiger Cub his pack celebrated as well. This year because it's been 100 years since Boy Scouts was founded, also in February, just in 1910, for those who can't figure out the math :) the theme was Happy Birthday BSA!! CJ's pack had a dinner and awards. They also sent home cake mixes & frosting a couple weeks earlier for the boys to make their own cake. They had a cake decorating contest. Each boy left with a blue ribbon award!! CJ wanted to make a volcano cake...so we did. We had to bake & decorate the cake the day before because the day of the banquet CJ had karate right after school & right before Scouts so we weren't going to have time to do it that day. I helped him bake the cake & his dad helped him frost it. CJ chose the colors.
